The next submission deadlines this year are 15 March 2025 and 26 September 2025. There are two submission deadlines per year - one in spring and one in autumn. After the submission deadline, applications for the year in question are no longer possible.
Films eligible for funding include feature films, documentaries, children's films and other films and series for TV, cinema and VOD that have a connection to Carinthia as specified in the CFC guidelines.

- Costs for material and script development
- Scouting, casting, test shots

The application is made using the form, which you fill in and ideally send to us by email.
We also require all additional documents listed on the form, including proof of project funding.
Here you will find a guide that will navigate you step by step through the application process.
The easiest way is to contact us directly if you want to apply for film funding for the first time. We will advise and inform you personally and unbureaucratically. This is the quickest and easiest way to achieve your goal.

Two aspects are currently of particular relevance, also in financial terms:
- Film productions that save resources and take climate-friendly measures (especially in the areas of transport, waste and catering) can be awarded the Austrian Ecolabel under the aspect of green filming. Green films receive special support in Austria. Further training measures in this area are also subsidised.
- In the spirit of social responsibility, many film funding organisations focus on the balanced representation of certain social groups. Diversity and inclusion in screenwriting, directing, producing and acting not only promotes diversity and equality, but also enriches and enhances the art of film with true-to-life stories and a strong connection to the audience.
If we support your film project, you are obliged to implement the following PR and marketing measures together with us:
- Use all two Carinthia Film Commission logos when promoting your film project.
- Provide us with a film poster (jpg or pdf, DIN A4 or in an aspect ratio of 1:1.4).
- Create a testimonial video (16:9, max. 40 seconds, can be used in both landscape and portrait format) and describe your experiences of the project realisation in Carinthia and the support provided by the Carinthia Film Commission.
- Realise at least two of the following measures:
Carry out press work:
- Press event during filming (interviews with director, producer, etc.)
- Press conference on completion of the production
Provide media content:
- Making-of material for the CFC website and social media channels
- Set photos for the CFC website and social media channels
- Trailer for the CFC website and social media channels
Events:
- Film premiere in Carinthia
- Participation in festivals or award ceremonies
- Autograph sessions or testimonial campaigns
These measures serve to promote the production and present Carinthia as a film location.
Films promote tourism and thus the economic added value of a region. As you may know, Austria is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. Carinthia, as the southernmost and sunniest province, is an important part of this. The province of Carinthia has developed a strategy to strengthen Carinthia's location and tourism status for the future. For this reason, when awarding funding, the Carinthia Film Commission also takes into account the extent to which film productions convey the values of the tourism strategy or whether they depict tourist landmarks or areas of experience typical of Carinthia.
The Carinthian film industry effect is a territorial effect: when a project funded by the CFC is realised, the largest possible share of the funding amount should be spent in Carinthia. It results from:
- general expenses (accommodation, meals, rents, transport, etc.) in Carinthia
- the regional utilisation of existing facilities and
- the employment of the regional film industry in artistic, technical and organisational functions.
The Carinthian film industry effect includes all eligible Carinthian expenditure (sh. CFC-Förderrichtlinien)
